Our Time with Gma and Gpa Hayward

We had a great visit with Louis and Dossie. Many changes in store....met with a realtor regarding selling their "Villa" in Anacala. We need to have some work done to have it ready to go on the market. All things point to placing it up for sale in November...when there is the height of lookey loos. Went to dinner and had Dossie sit in a booth. She did great! Went on a tour of old town. I hope that I can attach the pictures.

February 21st

Morning....I must tell you that RV rallies are not for the faint at heart or for anyone with a drinking problem! My goodness how they like to party. Last night the theme was a luau complete with a professional group of hula dancers! It was better than what we have seen on the islands. It was a great night...

And yes....I got pulled out of the audience to try my non-skills and tahitian style dancing which is rapidly moving your butt. I failed miserably! Some guy came up and told me I had terrible rhythm! Whatever...I am the body on the far right.

OK...this is Doug with Beuhula Beaver. She is the club mascot! Yes...the Beaver Ambassador Club known as the BAC has a mascot! She dresses for every occasion.

Some friends from the rally. We try to eat with different people every night but have found this group to be great fun. The people facing you on the right are the friends we made in Bend last year, George and Karen. The guy with his back to you and his wife are from Kansas and the the lady with her arm up, they are also from Oregon. There are 140 coaches plus vendors at this rally for about 350 people. Tonight is a ho-down so it should be fun.

The rest of our journey to CA

This was our view from our "camp-site!" There is a great golf course that this community surrounds as well as this man made water way. Lots of the lot owners have electric boats that they go on "cocktail" cruises in the evening. The improvements on their lots include an outdoor kitchen, casita house, pools and spas! Unbelievable! We had fun just being us!

A shot of the USS Midway during our cruise in the San Diego Bay. We hope to take a tour of this ship while we are here.

Called an ole' high school friend, Randy French and connected with him for lunch. His wife Nancy had to work but we are hoping to get together before we leave. She is retiring on Friday!

Since the last post we have traveled quite a bit.
We had a nice two day visit with Uncle Leon. He has a beautiful home in Joshua Tree.

We had a great time at a resort in Desert Springs Hotsprings. A great spot to bring our grandkids! We spent 4 days in the sun by the pool and took some great bike rides into the desert. They have a small lake where you can feed ducks, swans and geese. Lots of great tropical foliage.

Day Four - Super Tues

We left Twin Falls on Saturday, Feb. 2nd in a snow storm and traveled through snow for only a short time. The mountains were beautiful...all the fields white but the roads were not bad. We made it to Mesquite, Nevada around 5:00 which was a long day. We were up early on Sunday and headed for Las Vegas in 50+ MPH winds. We were afraid that we were going to loose our awnings...drove at 40 MPH. 80 miles and 2.5 hours later...we were in Vegas. We (Doug) had a coupon for free nights stay at a 5 star RV resort...which we took advantage of. Too bad the weather is not cooperating. Resort has 4 pools...a beautiful 18 hole putting green. The winds and low 40 degree temps are keeping us inside. We did make it to a couple of great buffets (Evan...we wish you were here) and went to see Spamalot. Planning on leaving Las Vegas tomorrow, Wed., to head to Joshua Tree to visit Uncle Leon. Until then.
